Expo ERASMUS

Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus (October 28,1466 – July 12, 1536), sometimes known as Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam, was a Dutch Renaissance humanist and a Catholic priest and theologian.

"I cannot tell you, dear Colet, how I hurry on, with all sails set, to holy literature. How I dislike everything that keeps me back, or retards me."
Well, ladies and gentleman, as you see the works of the Erasmus Summer 2010 in Cluj-Napoca, are different, in the material, in the meaning. Some are hard, some soft! Some are breaking “Taboos” in the country of Romania. But that’s what it counts, what it’s meant to be an artist: To break the standards, create a new and different level of meaning and showing! To built bridges and friendships. It’s in the end it’s about interchange of information, experience and languages. Last one sometimes is not easy, but for this we have the art, the way of “speaking” with colors, sculpture, video, photo and different materials!

People of different countries are showing you at this day, that they don’t need VISA, the language, habits or even the mentality to be in the same place in the same time!
Maybe you know these rope dancers?!? They have to walk on one rope to stay alive. In the history, but time ago, it was the same for an artist. Nowadays, and it started over one hundred years, artist have to brake “rules”, “taboos”. In this exhibition you will see different techniques, of people/artist of different countries. All is art, ‘cause we are all artist,-well said Joseph Beuys! It takes some time to get a positive feedback, but in the end they will be celebrated. So, please, let’s get a deeper look and have some wine, to start to celebrated it today, so, that we can be part of the first who make the first step!
