Nasui collection & gallery: growing artists, growing collection, internationally In its 3rd year of existence, Nasui collection & gallery continues its strategy to promote, cultural and investment wise, Romanian artists who work in contemporary visual arts, painting, sculpture, photography, performance, research and innovation. We would be delighted to see you around for our next projects:

  • June 28 – July 28: Artificial Life, Parallel event Manifesta 2014 Sankt Petersburg (RU)

Since origination of the conceptual project, characterized by dematerialization of art and the combination of artistic practice with theory, contemporary art increasingly strives for interdisciplinarity by overcoming its own limits, absorbing alien practices and strategies and crossing over to new territories. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/04/artificial-life-in-parallel-program-of-manifesta-10-st-petersburg/

  • April 10 – September 10: Call for Curatorial Projects & Research Trip to Romania by Nasui Collection & Gallery

Nasui Collection & Gallery is now accepting applications for its first annual Call for Curatorial Projects & Research Trip to Romania for spring 2015. It wants to provide increased opportunities and exposure to the artists represented by the gallery. The curator is encouraged to document the work of the artists represented by Nasui Collection & Gallery and to round-up a curatorial project which to include them. The curatorial project is encouraged to include any other artists and take place anywhere in the world. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/04/call-for-curatorial-projects-research-trip-to-romania-by-nasui-collection-gallery/

  • May 21 – 25: Participating with Daniel Brici, Radu Belcin, Bogdan Rata, Flavia Pitis, Gabriel Kelemen into Art Safari, the Art Pavilion, Bucharest (RO)

Art Safari is the first professional and public art pavilion in Romania, designed for both heritage and contemporary art. Art Safari brings together more than 100 galleries and art dealers, museums and cultural institutions, both from Romania and abroad, that exhibit high quality artworks, from paintings and sculptures to design and collectibles, in a refined curatorial manner. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/04/radu-belcin-daniel-brici-gabriel-kelemn-flavia-pitis-bogdan-rata-art-safari-2014/

  • May 21 – 25: Launching the book Eroticism in modern and contemporary Romanian art (Art Safari, the Art Pavilion, Bucharest (RO), May 21 – 25 2014

Eroticism in Romanian Modern & Contemporary Art, illustrated with over 1.600 artworks from over 300 Romanian artists starting with Gheorghe Tattarescu, Theodor Aman, Nicolae Grigorescu, Nicolae Tonitza, Theodor Pallady, Camil Ressu, covering the twenty century to contemporary days. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2013/10/eroticism-in-romanian-modern-contemporary-art/ This first quarter of 2014 we were quite busy:

  • March 6 – April 7: Double solo show: Radu Belcin, Flavia Pitis at Oxholm Gallery Copenhagen (DK)

Solo show Radu Belcin, ”Unfulfilled hopes” Unfulfilled hopes gather under this specific topic the most recent works of the Romanian artist Radu Belcin, along with a selection of his artworks from the last three years. Belcin’s artworks are internationally known for the dark surrealistic atmosphere which is questioning identity issues. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/02/solo-show-radu-belcin-unfulfilled-hop... Solo show Flavia Pitis, ”Landscape over time” Flavia Pitis’s new body of works involves the deep connection between the space and the time, laying beneath our concepts of understanding the reality. Starting the searches from the study of reality, Pitis investigates the identity of the past, the present or the future of a person or a situation. Reality slips between surrealism and neo-romanticism, whose mixture occurs in a dramatic chiaroscuro. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/02/flavia-pitis-landscape-over-time-oxholm-gallery-copenhagen/

  • January 25 – March 8: Solo show Radu Belcin ”Frozen Silence” at Martin Mertens Gallery Berlin (DE)

The delight of long shadows elongating in the background, the sparks of light, coming from the scenographically designed spot lights create the atmosphere that leads to a world of dreams or nightmares. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/01/solo-show-radu-belcin-galerie-martin-mertens-berlin/

  • January 22 – February 22: Solo show Flavia Pitis ”Back into illusion” at Varfok Gallery Budapest (HU)

The painterly art of Pitis mainly feeds from memories: personal past and the formulation of the flow of self-identity receives a significant place, she frequently losing herself in the excavation of her own memories and experience that she transforms into the language of painting. http://www.cosminnasui.com/2014/01/solo-show-flavia-pitis-back-into-illusion-varfok-gallery-budapest/

  • January 8, 2014: Dismantling the exhibition ”The Essences of reality” at Brukenthal National Museum Sibiu (RO)
