Dupa absolvirea Liceului de Arta George Enescu - Coregrafie, urmeaza cursurile Universitatii de Arta Teatrala si Cinematografica I.L. Caragiale din Bucuresti, luindu-si licenta in Arte Teatrale - Coregrafie.
Timp de 15 ani danseaza pe prima scena lirica a tarii, Opera Nationala Romana, ca prim-solista. A interpretat roluri remarcabile precum cel titular din: Giselle din Giselle, Odette - Odile din Lacul Lebedelor, Quiteria din Don Quijotte, Nikia din Bayadera, Julieta din Romeo si Julieta, Isolda din Tristan si Isolda, Katarina din Imblinzirea Scorpiei, Mama Asee din Peer Gynt, Clara din Spargatorul de nuci, Medora din Corsarul, Chloe din Daphnis si Chloe, Astarteea din Manfred, Primavera din Carmina Burana, Anna Karenina din opera cu acelasi titlu. A dansat sub bagheta unor coregrafi celebri ca Oleg Danovski, Ioan Tugearu, Alexa Mezincescu, Mihaela Atanasiu, Gelu Barbu, Gigi Caciuleanu, Yury Papko, Valery Kovtun, Victor Yunaeev, Richard Worlock, Charls Vodoz. A dansat pe marile scene ale teatrelor lirice din Germania, Elvetia, Olanda, Austria, Luxemburg, Spania, Insulele Canare, Coreea de Sud, Grecia.
         
In 1985, la virsta de numai 16 ani, obtine Diploma de Onoare in Competitia Internationala a Balerinilor Solisti de la Moscova. In 1991 i se decerneaza Premiul publicului la Concursul International de Balet de la Helsinki; in 1994 cistiga Prima Mentiune in cadrul Concursului International de Balet de la Jackson din Statele Unite ale Americii. In 1998 Presa Romana o desemneaza ca fiind drept Personalitatea Teatrala a Anului.
         
In prima editie publicata in Romania din 2002 a Enciclopediei Personalitatiilor Who's Who, apare inscrisa alaturi de nume reprezentative din toate domeniile culturii si societatii romanesti actuale. In acelasi an, Asociatia Profesionistilor de Televiziune din Romania, premiaza la sectiunea din concurs: Portret, filmul dedicat vietii personalitatii artistice a Simonei Somacescu: Visul Balerinei, film realizat de TVR, regizor Gabriele Nuta.
AMERICAN BIOGRAPHICAL INSTITUTE o nominalizeaza in cea de-a noua editie publicata in 2002, a Enciclopediei Whos Who of Professional And Business Women for Significant Career Achievements And Contributions To Society.

Participa ca Invitat Special, in 2000, la Festivalul International al Personalitatilor Feminine din domeniul Artei, desfasurat sub egida UNESCO, la Salonic, (Grecia), si ulterior in 2001 la Gala Extraordinara de Balet pe scena Operei din Viena (Austria), alaturi de cei mai prestigiosi prim-solisti ai Operelor din Paris, New-York, Viena, Munchen, Berlin, Sidney, Milano.

8 aprilie 2002 - Invitat Special in cadrul Galei Decernarii Premiilor UNITER (Uniunea Nationala a Teatrelor din Romania)
1 martie 2003 - Invitat Special in cadrul Spectacolului de Gala, prezentat pe scena Teatrului National din Tirgu-Mures, alaturi de Ion Caramitru (actor, regizor, presedinte al UNITER-ului), Victor Rebengiuc (actor principal al Teatrului Bulandra - Bucuresti, detinator al Premiului de Excelenta pentru intreaga activitate - UNITER 2003), Ovidiu-Iuliu Moldovan (actor principal al Teatrului National - Bucuresti), Nicu Alifantis (cantautor).
21 mai 2003 - Invitat Special al Galelor de Balet, prezentate de Teatrul de Balet Oleg Danovski - Constanta
23 iunie 2003 - Invitat Special in cadrul Spectacolului desfasurat pe scena Teatrului Bulandra - Bucuresti, cu ocazia lansarii cartii biografice "IPOSTAZE" al marelui actor Toma Caragiu.
28 Iunie 2003 - Invitat Special in cadrul Galei de Balet, prezentata de Teatrul de Balet Oleg Danovski din Constanta
17 decembrie 2003 - Invitat Special in cadrul spectacolului de Gala sustinut pe scena ATENEULUI ROMAN, cu ocazia decernarii Premiilor AECTRA pentru Excelenta in Afaceri.
23 februarie 2004 - Presedintele Romaniei Domnul Ion Iliescu, ii confera ORDINUL MERITUL CULTURAL IN GRAD DE CAVALER.
7 martie 2004 - Simona Somacescu debuteaza in calitate de coregraf. Televiziunea Romana - Programul 1, prezinta in cadrul GALEI dedicate ZILEI FEMEII, difuzata la o ora de maxima audienta, lucrarea coregrafica " CUVINTUL NEROSTIT " creata si interpretata de Simona Somacescu, pe muzica Mariei Tanase ( Doina din Dolj, cintata in limba franceza ).
  


After graduation of the Art High School George Enescu – Choreography, she attends the courses of the University of Theatrical and Cinematography Art I.L.Caragiale in Bucharest, obtaining a Bachelor Diploma for Theatrical Arts Choreography. For 15 years she dances for the first lyrical stage of the county, National Romanian Opera as Main Soloist. She has interpreted remarkable rolls as the titular one from: Giselle from Giselle, Nikia from Bayadera, Juliet from Romeo and Juliet, Isolda from Tristan and Isolda, Katarina from Teaming of the Shrew, Mother Asee from Peer Gynt, Clara from Nuts Cracker, Medora from The Pirate, Chloe from Daphnis and Chloe, Astarteea from Manfred, Primavera from Carmina Burana, Anna Karenina, from the opera with the similar name. She has danced under the supervision of famous choreographers as Oleg Danovski, Ioan Tugearu, Alexa Mezincescu, Mihaela Atanasiu, Gelu Barbu, Gigi Caciuleanu, Yuri Papko, Valery Kovtun, Victor Yunaeev, Richard Worlock, Charles Vodoz.

She has danced on the great stages of the lyrical theatres from Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Luxemburg, Spain, Canary Islands, South Koreea, Greece.

In 1985 at the age of 16 years old she receives the Honor Diploma in the International Competition of the Soloist Ballerinas from Moscow; in 1991 she receives Prize of the Public at the International Ballet Contest from Helsinki; in 1994 she wins the First Honorable Mention at the International Ballet Contest from Jackson from the United States of America. In1998 The Romanian Press assigns her as The Theatrical Personality of the Year .

In the first edition published in Romania from 2002, of the Personalities Encyclopedia Who's Who , she is published next to representative names from all the fields of the Present Romanian Cultures and Society. In the same year, the Association of Television Professional in Romania, awards at the section from the contest: Portrait, the film dedicated to live of the artistic personality of Simona Somacescu: The Dream of the Ballerina, film realized by the Romanian Television, director Gabriela Nuta. AMERICAN BIOGRAPHICAL INSTITUTE names her in the ninth published edition in 2002 of the Encyclopedia WHOS WHO OF PROFESSOINAL and BUSSINES WOMAN for the Significant Career Achievemants and Contributions to Society.

As Special Guest she participates in 2002 at the International Festival of Feminine Personalities in the Art Filed that took place under the aegis of UNESCO, in Salonic Greece, and subsequent in 2001 she participates at the Extraordinary Ballet Gala, on the stage of the Opera from Vienna Austria, together with the most prestgious Main Soloists of the Opera from Paris, New-York, Vienna, Berlin, Sydney, Milan.

In the same year, the Association of Television Professional in Romania, awarded at the section from the contest: Portrait, the film dedicated to the life of the artistic personality of Simona Somacescu: "The Dream of the Ballerina", film realized by the Romanian Television, director Gabriela Nuta.

AMERICAN BIOGRAPHICAL INSTITUTE named her in the 9-th published edition in 2002 of the Encyclopedia" Who's Who of Professional and Business Woman" for the Significant Career Achievements and Contributions to the Society.

April 8, 2002 - Special guest at the UNITER Awards Gala (National Union of the Theatres in Romania)

March 1, 2003 - Special guest at the Gala presented on the scene of the National Theatre from Targu-Mures, together with Ion Caramitru (actor, director, president of UNITER), Victor Rebengiuc (main actor of the Bulandra Theatre - Bucharest, Excellence Award Winner for his entire activity - UNITER), Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan (main actor of the National Theatre - Bucharest)

May 21, 2003 - Special guest of the Ballet Gala, presented by the Ballet Theatre Oleg Danovski - Constanta

June 23, 2003 - Special guest at the Show on the scene of the Bulandra Theatre - Bucharest, at the launching of the biographic book "IPOSTAZE" of the great actor Toma Caragiu

June 28, 2003 - Special guest of the Ballet Gala, presented by the Ballet Theatre Oleg Danovski - Constanta

December 17, 2003 - Special Guest in the Festivity Show sustained on the stage of the Romanian Athenee on the ocassion of awarding the AECTRA prizes for Business Excelence.
